Let’s face it, your golf cart is all about personalization. It's a personalized vehicle to help get you places without the clunkiness of a larger vehicle. Most importantly it’s about comfort. We’ve compiled some more upgrades you can make to your vehicle for even more great ways to improve your experience. If you haven’t seen our first list, start there. Steering Wheels

The steering wheel that comes with golf carts can sometimes be flimsy and difficult to use. This is especially true when you’re used to your much sturdier car or truck steering wheel. While you won’t need something that heavy, you can look into upgrading the wheel that comes with your golf car. This can be especially important if you spend quite a bit of time behind the wheel, so getting a custom steering wheel can vastly improve your ride and your look.

Seat Covers

Your golf cart—no matter what you choose to do with it—is probably going to spend quite a bit of time outside. The standard, factory seats are going to work for a while, but they’re not quite as durable as you might need them to be. That’s why many golf cart owners turn to aftermarket seat covers and even choose to replace their seats altogether. Covers can be made from much more durable material, which helps them last longer when out in the elements without tearing or fading. This can also be a great way to improve the look of the vehicle if you want something a little sportier or to add a touch of flare.

Fender Flares

As the going gets tough, the tough gets going. And by that we mean up in the air and all around. As you spin the wheels on your golf cart, you kick up a lot of dirt, debris, mud, and water, depending on what riding conditions are like, similar to what you’d experience in your commuter vehicle.

The difference here is that you won’t necessarily be completely enclosed with a metal cage shielding you from spray and kick back. That’s where fender flares come in. These extend coverage directly over your wheels so nothing gets thrown in your face or all over your passengers and seats. This can be particularly helpful when you know you’ll be using your golf cart for more rugged off-roading.

Brush guards

A good way to protect your golf cart from excessive damage from debris is to install brush guards. They sort of look like reinforced bumpers or cages that attach to the front of the vehicle to keep hazards from dinging and scraping it. They can also add a more rugged look to the vehicle’s aesthetic, and you can further upgrade your model to include matching panels on the side for added protection (and to help passengers get in and out of the vehicle).

Sound system

Is there anything more personalized than an upgraded sound system? Some golf carts don’t even come with a sound system, but there’s usually room for one. Make sure your kit is weather-proof and, of course, offers the best sound. If you’re getting a sound system that uses a Bluetooth® connection to hook up to your phone, you might want to consider a phone mount as well.

Even now, there are still more ways to improve your golf cart with the right accessories and attachments, but first, you’re going to need the right vehicle!
